Both the girls and boys basketball teams of PCM continued their winning ways by beating Colfax-Mingo Friday night by the score of 57-36 for the girls and 58-25 for the boys in a pair of games streamed live at kniakrls.com.

The girls would certainly start out hot as they went on a 15-8 run in the first quarter and never look back. Nicolette Huson was the player that needed to be shut down for Colfax-Mingo and that’s just what the Mustangs did as she got into foul trouble early in the first half and would not play for the remaining five and a half minutes of the second quarter. The Mustangs would certainly take advantage as freshman Courtney Van Houweling would be the leading scorer for the with a game-best 14 points. PCM goes to 10-5 overall in the season and 8-5 in the Heart of Iowa Conference play as they go to face Pella on Saturday night.

In the nightcap, the PCM boys would come out with the same fire as leading scorer Scott Bruxvoort needed only 14 points in a night that featured heavy contributions from the bench. Six Mustang reserves scored at least 2 points or more. PCM would also only allow the Tigerhawks to score double digits in the final quarter of play. PCM now advances to 14-2 overall and 12-1 in the Heart of Iowa Conference play. You can catch a delayed broadcast of the girls and boys on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 on 92.1 KRLS.
