PCM Mustangs had a rematch with the Raiders of Collins Maxwell Baxter as the Mustangs came away with the sweep on the road, but had to settle for a split at home with the girls losing 48-43, but the boys came away with a comfortable win 63-45.

The girls’ game would get out to a slow start as the raiders would outscore the Mustangs 11-9, but then PCM would tie things up at the half at 20, as they went on an 11-9 run themselves in the 2nd quarter. CMB out-rebounded PCM and would allow the raiders for second chance shots in the 2nd half and would also not sink in the free throws when it really mattered most. PCM’s leading scorers were Kelsey Townsend with 15 points and Courtney Van Houweling with 11, but would not be enough for CMB’s Abbie Haupert with 17 points. PCM now falls to 11-7 overall in the season and 8-7 in the Heart of Iowa Conference play and go against North Polk Friday night.

On the nightcap, the PCM boys would come out on fire as Scott Bruxvoort would start the night with a couple of dunks to entertain the crowd. Bruxvoort would end up having 29 points for night as Hutch Burns would have 8 points followed by Andrew McCarthy having 7 on the night. After the Mustangs had a comfortable 33-17 lead at halftime, CMB would try to hang with PCM as the Mustangs would only outscore CMB 30-28 in the second half, the Mustangs would take an easy 63-45 win. The Mustangs now advance to 15-2 overall in the season and 13-1 in the Heart of Iowa Conference as they face North Polk in Alleman on Friday.
