The Pella Rolscreen Foundation recently recognized just over 70 team members, spouses, and families for volunteer efforts to improve communities. 50 of those honorees are from the Pella area. To qualify for the program, honorees had to spend 50 hours volunteering for community causes during the past 12 months. The award for each honoree is that they get to select a charitable nonprofit community organization to receive a 100 dollar donation in their honor. The program was started 10 years ago, Mary Van Zante Executive Director of the Pella Rolscreen Foundation tells KNIA/KRLS News over that time the program has donated just over 100,000 dollars to various nonprofit organizations in honor of the award recipients.
