A trip with the opportunity to see a former Knoxville coach and to wrestle some of the best teams not only in Iowa, but the nation will not happen due to a winter storm in northern Iowa. The Knoxville wrestlers were scheduled to leave yesterday for Waverly to wrestle in the Go-Hawk Duals, however a winter storm that dumped as much as nine inches of snow in the Waverly area plus fears that the roads would not be 100-percent clear has cancelled that trip. Knoxville Athletic Director Randy Wilson says the roads would be too icy and dangerous to travel that far…so out of safety concerns, Knoxville is not be going to the Go-Hawk Duals today. The Panthers would have had the opportunity to wrestle Waverly-Shell Rock, the hosts of the Go-Hawk Duals and see former Knoxville Coach Eric Whitcome who is now the head coach of the Go-Hawks.
