[simage=3223,200,y,left] Marion County Attorney Ed Bull says he agrees with the principle of proposed Iowa immigration legislation. He says he just doesn’t agree with the execution. As written right now, the bill states that employers must use the E-Verify system to verify the legal status of any employee, and any complaint must come to the County Attorney’s Office to investigate. Bull says his office doesn’t have the money to hire an investigator, and his office’s job is to prosecute, not investigate. He adds that Marion County has great law enforcement personnel, and they should be the ones leading investigations.
