Knoxville Veterans’ Alliance Managing Member James Washington says that his partner Aubrey Wilson has not shown an appropriate amount of recognition for local entities as they have worked toward development at the VA Campus. Washington recently requested assistance from the City of Knoxville in helping remove Wilson from the Veteran’s Alliance. Washington tells KNIA/KRLS News it’s imperative that any partner be willing to work closely with the community, something that he’s emphasized with the formation of a community advisory group, and to do in a way that inspires a sense of camaraderie. He adds that showing community leaders what’s been done and how much it will cost after the fact isn’t an acceptable way of doing business.
