During the past year the US Army Corp of Engineers sought public input regarding a mandatory life jacket wear program for all boaters on Lake Red Rock. The program was to be implemented this year as a test site for other locations, in an effort to make boating safer. John Holt, Assistant Operations Manager at Lake Red Rock tells KNIA/KRLS that based on the response they received, the program will not be implemented.  The decision was made at the Corp Office in Rock Island, and followed the recommendation of Lake Red Rock staff. Holt says he is pleased with the decision, and with the public input they received.
