Twin Cedars seemed to enjoy a little reprieve from Bluegrass Conference basketball, as the Sabers left Thornburg with respective 47-36 and 66-25 wins over Tri-County in girls and boys basketball Tuesday night. The Twin Cedars girls built an early lead over the Trojans and maintained their distance over the final two quarters, as Alee Hugen’s 27-point, 14-rebound performance helped the Sabers improve to 15-4 on the season.

While Hugen highlighted the opener, the nightcap featured the “Otis Roby Show”, as the freshman tied a school record with nine three-pointers en route to 31 points and a 41-point throttling of the host Trojans. The Twin Cedars boys are now 9-10 overall on the season. Both squads will host Moulton-Udell in Bussey on Friday.
