[simage=7009,200,y,left] A 17-year-old Knoxville girl was sentenced to five years in prison last week after pleading guilty to Willful Injury. Amanda Llanes was arrested in October after a September incident where she attacked another juvenile girl. Llanes kicked the girl in the stomach, pulled her hair, and caused permanent scaring on her face. Marion County Attorney Ed Bull says that in his mind, the nature of the offense justified prosecution at the adult level. He notes that it was a difficult decision, but justice was served. Bull adds if children choose to commit adult crimes, they must be prepared to suffer the consequence.
