The Knoxville City Council approved entering into a Tax Increment Finance, or TIF agreement, with Cobblestone Hotel Group last night. A spokesman for Cobblestone told the Council that they have almost all their money raised. Their goal would be in the ground by the end of the month, and have the hotel open and operational by Nationals. Knoxville City Manager Harold Stewart also shared with the Council his dissatisfaction with Aubrey Wilson, the non-local partner in the Knoxville Veterans’ Alliance. He suggested to the Council it would be best to find a way to persuade Mr. Wilson to leave the project.
