Knoxville’s Chatterton On To The Quarterfinals; Colwell And Fresh Win Consolations At State Wrestling

It was a mixed bag of results for the three Knoxville wrestlers at the State Meet yesterday. 113 pounder Jay Fresh lost his first round match to Freddy Stroker of Bettendorf, but came back to win his first round consolation bout with Patrick Rasheed of Cedar Rapids Jefferson by forfeit. Lane Colwell lost his first round 145 pound match to Brayton Taylor of Fort Dodge 10-0, but came back to take his first round consolation match from Peyton Wagner of Cedar Rapids Prairie. 152 pounder Tyler Chatterton was victorious in his first round match over Gayge Samuelson 10-4 and will take on Zack Witte of Cedar Rapids Prairie this morning at nine in a quarterfinal.
