This past season for the Pella High boys basketball team had plenty of ups and downs, but through it all, this year’s varsity line-up kept its focus and never let themselves give in to defeat.

“I think that you saw a really resilient bunch of kids. We had a number of opportunities where disappointments and setbacks occurred, and we really never became a defeated team,” said Pella High head coach Mark Core.

“I mean, Grinnell beat us, but we didn’t quit. We didn’t give up on that game, we didn’t give up on our season. I think the resiliency and toughness of our guys is something that was appreciated by our fans and could be appreciated by the general public.”

The Pella High boys basketball team finished the season 14-8 overall, falling to Grinnell in the Class 3A District Finals.
