A pair of wrestlers from our local Class 1A schools hit the mats in Des Moines today, as Pleasantville and Melcher-Dallas High Schools will be represented at the State Wrestling Tournament. The Trojans have District champion Trey Busick in at 132 pounds, wrestling Heath Nagel of Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn.

Melcher-Dallas is represented by 145-pounder Josh Parker, who is wrestling for Southeast Warren. He’ll face Teddie Harvey of Fort Dodge St. Edmond in the opening round. The 1A portion of the State Wrestling Meet in Des Moines begins Thursday night in Session Three – which begins at 7:00 p.m. Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS Radio or visit kniakrls.com throughout the day for updates.

*KNIA/KRLS had previously reported that Aaron King of Pleasantville had also qualified. An error on the IHSAA website misidentified King, who is from Pekin, as having been from Pleasantville in the results of last week’s District meet. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
