The Melcher-Dallas boys basketball team put up its highest offensive output of the season on Monday night, whipping Seymour 79-54 in their Class 1A District Tournament opener. The Saints opened the game with a 24-9 first quarter, and had grown their lead to 71-37 by the start of the final period.

Four players reached double figures in scoring for the Melcher-Dallas boys, led by Kenneth Waddle’s 25 points and 22 more from Clay Wetterling. With the win, the Saints are 5-16 overall. They’ll face Wayne in Corydon on Thursday – a team that handed them a 33-point loss in their regular season finale.
