PCM’s Younger Bruxvoort Fills in Admirably for Older Brother

The PCM boys basketball team saw a number of players step up their game in key moments in Saturday’s 48-47 win over West Marshall to compensate for the loss of injured senior Scott Bruxvoort, but one of the biggest contributions was from Scott’s own flesh-and-blood – his brother Dillon. The 6’4” sophomore again stepped into the starting line-up and held his own with the talented Trojans front court, finishing with 4 points, 5 rebounds, and a key block.

“I just figured I had to come in and not make too many mistakes,” said Bruxvoort. “We talked as a team before the game, and decided that not one person could take Scott’s place, and everybody just had to step up and do a little more on their own part.”

Whether or not his older brother is fully recovered from his ankle injury by the time PCM hits the floor in next week’s State Quarterfinals, it is certain that Dillon will again play a pivotal role in the Mustangs’ success. PCM is the #2 seed in the Class 2A State Basketball Tournament and will face St. Edmond out of Fort Dodge next Tuesday afternoon.
