A Pella man rolled the top Classified Singles games at the 2012 United States Bowling Congress Open Championships in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, this past weekend. Joel Fee caught everyone’s attention with opening games of 234 and 236, then finished with a 185 to cap off a 655 series. The total was the highest set of the 31-year-old right-hander’s career. Fee, who bowls in two leagues a week at the Pella Excit-a-Bowl, was competing in his first USBC Open Championships appearance. He also finished the weekend with a 534 in doubles and a 460 series in the team competition for a 1,649 all-events pin total, which placed him fourth in Classified All-Events. That number is 28 pins behind the leader; Mike Raburn of Cleveland, Tennessee.
