As dominant as Pella High looked on Monday night in their District Tournament victory over Carlisle, it’s only just the beginning for the Little Dutch.

“It is tournament time in a single-elimination tournament, and I think we’re playing well [right now], but I think the other 31 teams in Class 3A could probably say the same thing as well,” said Pella High head coach Mark Core. “While we feel good about where we are, I think we also understand…we’re at that point where it’s a one-game season. That game of course is at Newton against Grinnell, so we definitely have work to do to get ready for them and then we’ll have to go out and execute on Thursday night.”

That’s Pella High head coach Mark Core. As mentioned, the Little Dutch are gearing up for a third meeting with Grinnell coming up Thursday night in Newton. The two teams split the season series, each winning on the others’ home court. Thursday night’s Class 3A District Final will be broadcast live on 92.1 fm KRLS, with coverage beginning at 6:40 p.m.
