Mount Ayr proved to be an unkind climate for a Pleasantville basketball victory Friday night, as the Trojan girls were handed a 52-37 setback, and the boys took just their third loss of the season in a 56-48 defeat. Kennedy Core’s 9 points was tops on the Pleasantville girls’ squad, with the loss dropping them to 6-14 overall and 5-10 in the Pride of Iowa Conference. The Trojan boys were once again led by Hunter Van Haalen and Collin Thomas, who scored 17 and 14 points, respectively. The loss drops Pleasantville to 16-3 overall and 12-3 in league play. Up next is a road game in Liberty Center on Tuesday against Southeast Warren.
