Pleasantville’s Trey Busick picked up a first round win to keep his hopes of a State Wrestling title alive on Thursday, while Melcher-Dallas’s Josh Parker had his postseason run come to a close for Southeast Warren in the Class 1A portion of the State Wrestling Tournament.

Busick notched a 9-3 first-round decision over Heath Nagel of Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn at 132 pounds. The win puts Busick in the second round of the winner’s bracket against Kolbi Kohl of Lisbon today. At 145 pounds, Parker was defeated 10-4 by Teddie Harvey of Fort Dodge St. Edmond in the opening round, then lost 8-5 to Spencer Kelly of Rockford in the consolation bracket.
