A public hearing on the proposed Knoxville City Budget will take place next Monday, March 5th. The hearing will take place during the regular meeting of the City Council, which starts at 6:15. City Manager Harold Stewart says that the public hearing is an important part of the process. It’s the time that the public has a chance to express to the Council where they agree and disagree with the budget before the Council makes a decision. This year’s budget makes a variety of changes, including replacing a 1% utility sales tax with a 5% utility franchise fee. For more on the proposed budget, contact Knoxville City Hall.
