Another Bluegrass Conference doubleheader with Murray again had unfavorable results for the Melcher-Dallas girls and boys basketball teams, as the Saints were swept 41-37 and 72-53 by the visiting Mustangs Tuesday night.

The Melcher-Dallas girls were again left frustrated – this time by a four-point loss – as Murray shot eighteen free throws to their two. It was the third time this season that the Saints were handed a loss by the Mustangs. They slip to 8-11 on the season and 5-4 against league opponents.

The Melcher-Dallas boys knew they’d have an uphill battle against one of the top squads in the state, and proudly held their ground with the Mustangs throughout the game. Kenneth Waddle had a team-high 22 points, and Clay Wetterling piled on a solid 12 points in the loss. The Melcher-Dallas boys are now 2-7 against league opponents.

Both the girls and boys are back in action on Friday in Seymour.
