Central Softball Suffers Bitter Setbacks at Luther

A pair of gut-wrenching sixth inning rallies by Luther College sabotaged what otherwise appeared to a be a promising Iowa Conference opener for the Central College softball team, as the No. 5 Norse stole away a pair of wins, 4-2 and 5-4 over the No. 7-ranked Dutch on Saturday. More to come…

IN THE PAST TWENTY FOUR HOURS THE MARION COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES RESPONDED TO TWENTY THREE CALLS FOR SERVICE INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THREE EXTRA PATROLS, ONE ALARM, FOUR MOTORIST ASSISTS, ONE REPORT OF TRESPASS, TWO RETURN PHONE CALLS, ONE SUSPICIOUS PERSON, ONE FOLLOW UP, ONE INCOMPLETE 911 CALL, ONE ANIMAL, ONE SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE, ONE CIVIL ISSUE, ONE REPORT OF ATV’S, ONE JUVENILE, ONE REPORT OF HARASSMENT, ONE REPORT OF LIVESTOCK IN THE ROADWAY, ONE BURGLARY, AND ONE DOG.

Pella, Knoxville Boys Take Top Two Spots in Team Standings at Winterset Track Meet

Friday night’s track meet in Winterset may have been called the “Husky Relays”, but it belonged to the Dutch and Panthers, and Pella High and Knoxville dominated the competition, placing first and second in the team standings.
