Central College’s Zach Beekman and Theron Stewart have been named Scholar All-Americans by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.
To be eligible for selection, a wrestler must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher and meet one of three criteria: qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships, place in the NCAA qualifying tournament or win more than 66 percent of his matches.

Beekman, a 157-pounder, compiled a 10-5 record. He took runner-up honors at the Central Invitational and placed seventh in the Silver Division of the Augsburg Invitational. At 197 pounds, Stewart posted an 18-8 mark and finished third at the Central Invitational. He placed fourth at the MSOE Invitational and fifth at the Knox Invitational.

Eleven Central wrestlers have captured the honor 13 times. Senior Reid Imerman last received the distinction in 2010.
