The filing deadline to appear on the primary ballot for county offices is Wednesday at 5pm. This year, there are four county positions up for election – the position of sheriff, the position of auditor, and two supervisor spots. As of Tuesday afternoon, current auditor Jake Grandia and current supervisor Jim Kingery have both filed their papers. Two people have filed for sheriff – Randy Puyear and Jason Sandholdt. Current sheriff Ron Goemaat did not have papers filed as of early Tuesday afternoon, nor did current supervisor Sam Nichols. Nichols has indicated he will not run again this year. Be sure to come back to kniakrls.com after 5pm Wednesday to see who all the candidates are in each county office.
