After three or four years of long winters and lots of snow, area golf courses have caught a break this spring. Pine Knolls Country Club Superintendent Joel Arkema says they were open this past weekend and will be open again beginning Tuesday. Arkema says that the nice weather caught them off guard a little bit, but they’re getting all their equipment ready. Arkema says that he’s excited for what could be a long season, and he knows that area golfers are too.
