Knoxville City Manager Harold Stewart says that the City is interested in creating a new industrial park. Stewart told KNIA/KRLS News that the Council made that a priority during their work session Monday evening. The industrial park was part of the discussion on the new Economic Development Council that was approved through a 28-E agreement last year.

Funds to start the committee are coming from the City and from Knoxville Water Works. Stewart says the Council prioritized creating the Industrial Park as their main goal, and having a spec building was being considered. Stewart says that city staff is working on deciding how the committee should be structured and who should sit on it. He hopes to have a recommendation for the Council on those items by next month.
