The first outdoor meet of the season for the Melcher-Dallas girls track and field team is just a day away, and the Saints will be relying on their veteran runners to provide a good base for them early on. Melcher-Dallas girls head coach Jim Crozier says the team’s upperclassmen will be key legs in a number of relay teams.

“Our middle distance runners will be good in the 800 [meters], I think. Delaney Jensen – who’s a senior who has done well for us in the past – along with Amanda Marlin – another senior – are back for us,” said Crozier.

“Then we have some sprinters in Lexi Crozier and Madyson Riebhoff that’ll definitely help us in some of those relays, too. We have a couple other seniors that have been out all four years – Lacey Fee and Sydney Fee – that we hope to get some good production out of also”

The Saints open the outdoor season tomorrow at Albia.
