This past bowling season was a successful one for the girls and boys teams from Pella Christian High School. In addition to having a record number of participants out, coach Rod Blunck said the team as a whole did a great job of improving their scores through individual success stories.
“I keep track of the scores that we post throughout the year, and this year – compared to last year – we increased our team average by nine pins. We had twelve kids who posted high games over 200 pins; and one of them was a 258, and we had a couple of 230s in there,” said Blunck.
“A lot of the kids showed improvement – anywhere from just a couple pins over where they started or finished last year, all the way up to almost fifty pins individually – so it was a great season.”
A total of 51 students went out for bowling this winter at Pella Christian, though they’ll have a number of slots to fill next season, as 24 of those bowlers were seniors.
