A foursome of talented athletes from the Pella Christian girls track and field team recently signed their official letters of intent to continue their running careers at Dordt College. Pella Christian Activities Director Brad Engbers tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that Lynelle DeBruin, Sarah Faber, Jasmin Schelhaas and Kate Van Gilst will all join the Defenders track and field squad as college freshmen next year. All four are multi-sport athletes at Pella Christian, counting volleyball and basketball among their other athletic endeavors.

Faber, Schelhaas and Van Gilst all ran on the Lady Eagles’ State Meet-qualifying 4×100 meter relay team last season and compete in a number of relay and individual sprint events; while DeBruin joins Faber as a long-jumper on the team. The Pella Christian girls track and field team competes for the first time this season on March 27th, when they’ll run at Chariton.
