After boldly stating nine days ago that he would not miss Tuesday’s State Quarterfinal game due to an ankle injury, PCM’s Scott Bruxvoort is still not a guarantee to play. Mustangs’ head coach Fred Lorensen says the team is preparing for Tuesday’s game as if Bruxvoort will not be available, while the 6’6″ senior continues to rehab a severely injured right ankle that was sustained in the first quarter of the District Finals against Davis County.

“We were kind of in the same position the week before, we weren’t real sure where he’d be by Saturday night, and it turned out he wasn’t able to play. We can’t let that be an issue. We have to be ready to play without him, and if he’s back then that’s just icing on the cake for us,” said Lorensen. “We’re going to prepare like he’s not going to be there, and if he can – which we certainly hope that he will – then that’ll be just that much better for us.”

The PCM boys basketball team is 22-2 overall and has the Class 2A State Tournament’s No. 2 seed entering their match-up with Ft. Dodge St. Edmond at 12:05 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on 92.1 FM KRLS.
