To be the best, you have to compete against the best, and that’s certainly no problem for the PCM boys track and field squad. The Mustangs have to look no further than their own conference to find some of the top Class 2A programs in the state, and also add in opportunities to compete against talented 3A programs from nearby schools.

“The gold standard has always been seeing someone like a Roland-Story or a CMB – that’s in our conference. Then you can go around [the area] – we get to see Eddyville-Blakesburg, we go run at Pella, Knoxville comes to our home meet – I mean we’ve got great teams around here,” said PCM boys head coach Ben Anderson.

“I get excited about that because I think we can see that we’ve got talent at practice, but I think when you see that talent up against somebody else it’s always good.”

PCM sees one of those aforementioned teams right away, as they’ll compete at Roland-Story on on March 30th.
