[simage=7274,max,n,center,]The Pella City Council met in regular session last night. The council approved several items including the partnership between Pella, Oskaloosa, and Mahaska county for the regional airport project. The council also set a public hearing date on demolition plans for the cooling towers at the power plant for May 1st. The demolition would make way for the planned Clark Street Substation project.

The council also held a policy and planning session where they discussed electrical rates over the summer after the official switch to Missouri River Energy Services. The council didn’t decide if they would limit ECA adjustments beyond an initial period, but it was proposed as a way to ensure steady costs for customers during the transition.
