While it was not against the top level Big 12 competition, Pleasantville Native Chelsea Thomas was perfect in the circle for Missouri against St. Louis Saturday in a ten/nothing five inning shutout as she allowed no base runners while striking out eight of the 15 batters. She threw just 64 pitches, 44 of which were for strikes. It was Thomas’ second no hitter in a week and the ninth no hitter of her career. Her other no-no was against Washington back on February 25th, which appears more impressive since the Huskies were the number five team in the nation at that time. That effort earned Thomas her ninth career Big 12 Pitcher of the Week Award. Currently, Thomas is 5-1 on the season with a 1.01 E-R-A. She has given up seven runs on 15 hits 11 walks, and has struck out 46 batters in just 34 2/3 innings of work.
