Knoxville City Manager Harold Stewart says that he’s very happy with the response he’s gotten from advertising the new Assistant City Manager position. Stewart tells KNIA/KRLS News that City Hall has received many resumes in response to the open position, and that many of the applicants have a master’s degree in something such as urban planning or public administration. He says he hopes to have the position offered by early-to-mid April.

He says that the fire chief position has also seen several resumes come in and even more inquires. Stewart says that the fire chief selection committee will be setting criteria to screen applicants in the near future, and they’ll begin interviewing candidates after that.
