Nearly half of the Knoxville girls track and field squad are freshmen this season. That has caused a bit of a learning curve for the Panthers and Coach Jeremy Van Engen. He says for those freshmen to have success, he wants them to understand that high school track and field is a little different then middle school track and field. While eight of the 20 girls are freshmen, Van Engen says there are some girls that could be very good this season. He says relays look to be one of the strong points of his team. The Panthers will travel to the Little Hawkeye Conference Indoor meet tonight in Grinnell. Their first regular season meet is the Clarke Invitational on March 29th.
