Subpar is typically not a good thing – but it’s great when you’re a golfer – and Pella High’s Lucas Boyd accomplished just that in helping lead the Little Dutch to victory in a triangular hosted Tuesday evening by Moravia. Golfing at The Preserve on Rathbun Lake, Boyd birdied four of his first five holes and fired a three-under par 33 to take medalist honors and help Pella finish with a team score of 155. The Pleasantville boys golf team finished second with a 197, and host Moravia was third with a 204. Boyd’s teammate, Corey Elliott, took runner-up with a 38. Pleasantville’s low round came from Jordan Warner, who fired a 43.
