[simage=6394,200,y,left] Senator Paul McKinley says he doesn’t expect any lengthy delays to the legislative session this year. This is despite differences in spending plans between Republicans and Democrats on the Hill. McKinley tells KNIA/KRLS News that the Republican plan spends about 97 percent of what’s estimated to be taken in this year, while the Democratic plan spends about 103 percent. McKinley notes that it’s important to build up some reserve funds for the future, adding that no one wants to see a repeat of the 10% across-the-board cut that occurred in 2009. He says that working on the budget will be one of the biggest priorities for the rest of the session. McKinley notes that passing a property tax rollback package is another high priority.
