Sharing the lead going into Saturday’s final round, the Central College men’s golf team pulled away in the rain for a 16-stroke victory at the Central Spring Invitational. The Dutch carded a second-round 300 to finish with a 609 on the par-72 Bos Landen Golf Club. The University of Dubuque followed at 625 while Luther College placed third at 626.

The 14-team field endured rain throughout the day. Central’s Brent Messmore took runner-up honors at with a 149 after a second round score of 72 – 5 strokes better than Friday’s round. Dubuque’s Eric Wolfe won the individual race with a 145. It’s the third straight tournament win for Central. The Dutch take on the Augustana College Invitational April 13th and 14th in Milan, Illinois.
