The girls track and field teams from PCM, Pella High, Pleasantville and Twin Cedars were all in action Monday night for the 13-team Mustang Girls Classic. Divided into two classes, the Lady Dutch took the title in Class A – in front of West Marshall – with 165.5 points; while the host Mustangs took third with 97 points. In Class B, Twin Cedars finished fifth with 66 points; while Pleasantville was a spot back at sixth with 23.5 points. North Mahaska claimed the Class B team title.

Pella High claimed a half-dozen first-place finishes, but really raked in the points by double-scoring in nearly every event. Leading the way for the Lady Dutch were their distance events. The PCM girls had a pair of gold medals, including a win in the 3000 Meters by Rachel Peter, and were near the top of the pack in a multitude of events.

In Class B, Twin Cedars dominated the hurdle events; taking first in the Shuttle Hurdle Relay, along with silver medals from Alee Hugen and Brittany Roby in the 100 and 400 Meter Hurdles, respectively. For Pleasantville, M’Kay Knudsen took gold in the Discus, and the Trojans’ 4×400 Meter Relay team placed third.
