[simage=7373,400,y,center] National Library Week begins today, and the Knoxville Library has a packed schedule this week to celebrate. The library is bringing in two nationally-acclaimed writers on Wednesday for a special “Different Worlds” program. They also have the Friends of the Library book sale Thursday through Saturday, as well as a book club discussion Monday afternoon and story time Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Director Roslin Thompson says that there’s definitely been an increased usage of the library in Knoxville recently. This week, she wants to highlight the number of resources the library provides. She says that in addition to books, people use the library’s wi-fi connection, come for programs, and use the WorkForce Development Access Point.

At the Pella Public Library the celebration involves a Food For Fines Drive. If you have fines at the library, they will waive $1.00 in fines for each non-perishable food item donated to the Pella Food Shelf. The Friends of the Library will also be holding a book sale beginning Tuesday through April 19, from 10:00 AM through 9:00PM daily.
