The PCM girls track and field team took first place at Tuesday night’s Lew Lundy Invitational at Montezuma, while Knoxville placed fifth. Behind six gold medals – including strong showings in the relay events and the discus – the Mustangs tallied 154 points, 31 in front of second-place Pekin. The Panthers had a pair of gold medals to help them to 72 points.

Meet highlights for PCM included individual wins by Lexi Kain in the 200 Meter Dash, Rachel Peter in the 3000 Meters and Briliee McWilliams in the Discus; along with golds in the 4×100, 4×200 and Shuttle Hurdle Relays. Knoxville’s night was highlighted by a first-place finish from Alex Gibson in the high jump and a winning Distance Medley Relay team. The Panthers’ Shuttle Hurdle Relay team finished second, behind PCM.
