The Pella High girls track and field team was in strong form in their first outdoor meet of the season, claiming a first place finish in Thursday night’s meet at Nevada. The Lady Dutch scored 211 points, just eight points ahead of an equally impressive performance by Gilbert.

Leading the way for the green-and-white were the team’s 4×100 (J. Holterhaus, L. Manecke, K. Sunderman, N. VanZomeren), 4×800 (B. Vande Weerd, M. Meyer, S. VanMaanen, V. Kleven), Distance Medley (A. VanZomeren, K. Sunderman, B. Vande Weerd, A. Kirkland) and Shuttle Hurdle (B. Visser, D. Zabrodova, L. VanEe, M. Gaiser) Relays; along with additional gold medals from Lydia VanEe in the 100 Meter Hurdles, Nadine VanZomeren in the 400 Meter Dash, Hanna Martin in the 3000 Meter Run and Lexi Reynolds in the Discus. Pella High also had seven 2nd place finishes and four 3rd place performances.
