Central College track and field athlete Ethan Miller was the top Division III competitor in Drake Relays decathlon Thursday, scoring 7,076 points to take fourth overall. Miller’s point total was shy of his personal best (7,170) from his 2011 National Championship but was enough to send him to the top of the Division III list. He recorded marks of 14.95 seconds in the 110 hurdles, 119 feet, 1 inch in the discus, 15-1 in the pole vault, 149-2 in the javelin throw, and 4:49.46 in the 1,500 meters.

Meanwhile, freshman teammate Eric Larson finished 12th (6,183) and Breighen Powell was 14th (4,997). Larson added 31 points to his best mark from earlier in the season and is currently ranked 10th in Division III.

The Dutch will send the majority of the men’s and women’s squads to the Kip Janvrin Open in Indianola today. Events are scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. Central will also contest several events at the Drake Relays, including the women’s 4×100 relay prelims, men’s 4×100 relay prelims, men’s 4×800 relay, men’s 4×200 relay, women’s 4×400 relay prelims, and men’s 4×400 relay prelims.
