Though Colfax-Mingo was unable to field a full varsity golf team for the meet they hosted Tuesday night, the Pella Christian girls golf team still got to compete in their season opener. With an win by forfeit already in the books, the Lady Eagles shot a 224 as a team; led by Cori Uitermarkt’s 9-hole score of 54, and closely followed by Amy Dunsburgen’s 55.

Pella Christian’s five varsity golfers all finished within a few strokes of each other, something head coach Larry Hessing said was a good sign in the team’s first meet of the season. Up next for the Lady Eagles is a home triangular against Newton and Knoxville at the Pella Golf and Country Club this coming Tuesday.
