Pella Boys Tennis Defeats North Polk 8-3

A near sweep in doubles play helped the Pella High boys tennis team notch an 8-3 victory over North Polk Monday evening. The Little Dutch swept every doubles match in straight sets, except for No. 2 doubles, where the duo of Michael Schemm and Jamison Roozeboom was edged 5-7, 7-5, 10-12 in an ultra-competitive match.

In singles, Pella got victories from Brannon Johnson, David Lapthorn and Tom Palmer at the No. 1 through 3 seeds; and Roozeboom at No. 6 singles.

Singles
1. Brannon Johnson defeated Kort Gioffredi 6-2, 6-2
2. David Lapthorn defeated Ryan Nichols 6-3, 6-2
3. Tom Palmer defeated Joe Peterson 6-4, 6-0
4. Michael Schemm lost to Wyatt Houge 4-6, 6-4, 8-10
5. Aaron Van Maanen lost to Michael Rimathe 4-6, 2-6
6. Jamison Roozeboom defeated Vid Pandzic 6-0, 6-3

Doubles
1. Johnson/Lapthorn defeated Gioffredi/Peterson 6-4, 6-2
2. Schemm/Roozeboom lost to Houge/Rimathe 5-7, 7-5, 10-12
3. Palmer/Van Maanen defeated Nichols/Pandzic 6-4, 6-4
4. Bailey Tripp/Tom Pettit defeated Zack Snyder/Tom Gonoe 6-3, 6-0
5. Mitch Shepperd/Sam Dykstra defeated Aaron Reinke/Alan Hamatto 6-2, 6-3
