At their meeting Tuesday evening, the City Council of Pella set plans in motion for sewer repair project. For this project, a portion of east 3rd Street will be torn up, so work can be done on sewer lines and a new equalization basin will be constructed. The project is in response to an IDNR mandate requiring the city to eliminate all bypasses in their sanitary sewer system by October 2013.
