Behind the leadership of senior Brannon Johnson, the Pella High boys tennis team took the overall team title at Saturday’s Knoxville Invite. Johnson teamed up with sophomore David Lapthorn to take first place in doubles play. Other highlights for the Little Dutch included Jamison Roozeboom with a second place finish in singles, along with an overall fourth place finish from Tom Pettit in singles. The Pella High boys added a fifth place finish in doubles from the tandem of Tom Palmer and Aaron Van Maanen. On the day, the Little Dutch won 11 matches while only losing four.

Jamison Roozeboom defeated Aaron Den Hartog (Osky) 8-2, defeated Hobie Hein (Albia) 8-2, lost to Erik Smith (Albia) in the finals 4-8.
Tom Pettit defeated Brody Harrison (Saydel) 8-2, defeated Josh McDaniel (Osky) 8-2, lost to Erik Smith (Albia) 3-8, lost to Hobie Hein (Albia) 6-8.

Doubles
Brannon Johnson/David Lapthorn defeated Van Beek/Fynaart (PC) 8-1, defeated Gustafson/Robinson (Saydel) 8-1, defeated Dahm/Zanting (PC) 8-4.
Tom Palmer/Aaron Van Maanen defeated Wallace/Thomas (Knox) 8-0, lost to Dahm/Zanting (PC) 8-9 (5), defeated Strong/McBuney (Osky) 8-1, defeated Jensen/Cole (Albia) 8-0, defeated Thompson/Kurinski (Albia) 8-1.
