The Pleasantville girls golf team hopes to follow up their strong start to the season with a good showing on their home course this afternoon. The Trojans bested PCM in Monroe this past Thursday and will be hosting Southeast Warren in another head-to-head competition.

Longtime Pleasantville girls head coach Dan Calhoun says it’s helpful to have three experienced upperclassmen leading the way and expects them to perform well.

“The older kids are pretty good. Morgan Marsh, Charlie Vanderpool and Ashley Jahner are veteran players. Ashley’s an All-State player. All three of them are returning All-Conference players; so we expect them to play well,” said Calhoun.

“Their techniques are pretty good right now. Primarily they have to work on their short game more and they have to build up their confidence.”

The Trojans and Warhawks will tee it up at 4:00 p.m. today at the Pleasantville Country Club.
