A three-run double in the top of the eighth inning capped of a six-run comeback that gave Luther a 7-6 victory Friday evening over the Central College baseball team in the Iowa Conference Tournament, and ended any shot at a league tournament title for the Dutch.

The Norse struck first with a run in the top of the second inning, but Central put up three runs in the bottom of the following two innings to take a 6-1 lead, and seemed to be in control. Luther began chipping away at Central’s advantage, scoring one run in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh to pull within 6-4 before the decisive blow from Luther’s Kevin Bradley.

Once the Norse regained the lead, their pitching kept the Dutch at bay, and a pair of fly-outs closed out the game at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids. The loss ends Central’s season at 29-11, still the most wins in a season in program history.
