The Knoxville Boys Track and Field Squad sent 11 automatic qualifiers to the State Meet next week and in doing so took the team title for the fifth time in seven years at the class three-A District at Dallas Center-Grimes last night. Going as district champions were: Derek Seddon in the shot put and discus, Tanner Dunkin in the 100, Colton Spaur in the 200, Ryan Douglas in the 400 hurdles, also qualifying as district champions were three relays as the 4×200, 400, and 800 meter relays all took first place. Qualifying as district runners-up were: Wick Cunningham in the 800, also the shuttle hurdle relay, and the 4×100 were able to reserve a spot at the Blue Oval next week. A full list of official qualifiers will be released from the Iowa High School Athletic Association by this afternoon, stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS for more information when it becomes official. On the girls side, the Panthers finished fifth as a team, and Cheyenne Jones was the only official qualifier in the shot put.
